Leonardo Tamer (Brookfield, Conn.) won the 50-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard IM, as the Western Connecticut State University Wolves dropped a 147-83 decision against the visiting William Paterson University Pioneers in men's swimming and diving action this afternoon at the O'Neill Center. WestConn falls to 5-4 heading into the last dual meet on Wednesday at New York Maritime. William Paterson improves to 10-4-1 with its fifth victory in a row and its second over the Wolves this winter. The Pioneers had posted a 136-75 decision as part of the Sarah Lawrence Sprint Carnival on October 21.

Eric Quiterio (Windsor, Conn.) joined Tamer among the Wolves' winners, as Masbad won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.45, Chen touched first in the 50-yard backstroke at 28.78, and Quiterio won the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 25.47. WestConn also opened the meet with a first-place time of 1:47.29 in the 200-yard medley relay. Masbad, Chen, Tamer, and Quiterio made up the Wolves' winning relay foursome.
