WestConn Men's Swimming And Diving Knocks Off Mount St. Mary

DANBURY, Conn. - Freshman Eric Quiterio (Fairfield, Conn.) won three events to lead the Western Connecticut State University Wolves to a 102-18 win over the visiting Mount St. Mary College Knights in men's swimming and diving action this afternoon in the O'Neil Center.  Competing for the first time in 39 days, WestConn improves to 5-2 in dual meets with a Little East tri-meet against Plymouth State and the host UMass-Dartmouth Corsairs up next on Friday at 1 p.m.

Quiterio won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:23.35, the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.34, and the 500-yard free at 5:43.88.  Sophomore Leonardo Tamer (Brookfield, Conn.) made his WestConn debut with winning performances in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:03.04 and the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:08.70, while junior Rafael Masbad (Ansonia, Conn.) took first in the 200-yard freestyle to open the meet.  In diving, rookie Jayden Satir (Greenwich, Conn.) posted scores of 226.60 off the one-meter board and 220.65 at the theee-meter height to collect 18 points toward the team score.
