DANBURY. Conn. - Eleven different players scored as the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team opened its Little East Conference schedule with a 21-0 victory over visiting Rhode Island College at the Westside Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Senior attack
Dominique DeMarsico (Danbury, Conn.) and freshman attack
Gina Giambald (East Meadow, N.Y.) led the way for the Wolves with four goals apiece. DeMarsico added an assist on the afternoon to amass a game-high five points.
WestConn, now 8-1 overall, were efficient on offense, as it scored on 81% of its shot attempts against the Anchorwomen, which drop to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in league action.

Colleen Crotty (Peabody, Mass), and senior midfieldersÂ
Jaymee Alfonso (Danbury, Conn) and
Colleen Foley (Kingston, Mass.) each knotched a pair of goals for the winners.
Junior net minder
Molly Bresnahan (Noank, Conn.) went the distance in goal for the Wolves. She made three saves and faced just four attempts on goal from the Anchorwomen.
Olivia Brennan (Portsmouth, R.I.) suffered the loss between the pipes for RIC. She made one save on Saturday.
WestConn gets right back at it tomorrow (Sunday) when it travels to Springfield College. Game time with The Pride and former WestConn head coach Jennifer Thomas is set for 1 pm.
Rhode Island College returns to action next Saturday when it faces University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in North Dartmouth, Mass. Game time is set for 12 pm.
