Box Score MESA, AZ - The Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team improved to 4-1 on the season following Tuesday's 17-6 victory over Wisconsin-River Falls at Bell Bank Park.
Junior
Vicky Gracy led the offense for the Wolves by scoring five goals on six shots.
Alexa Riggio followed closely behind with four tallies for the winners.
Joining the scoring barrage were
Dominique DeMarsico, three goals and an assist and Jaymee Alonso adding a pair of markers and one assist.
Rounding out the goal scoring for WestConn was
Katelyn Contreras,
Gina Giambald and
Grace Smawley.
Anna Schipf and
Molly Bresnahan split time in goal for the Wolves. Schipf made four stops while allowing four UWRF goals. Bresnahan worked the second half and made three saves and yielded a pair of tallies.
The Wolves wrap up its time in the Grand Canyon State on Thursday, March 16 when it faces regional foe Fairleigh Dickinson Florham. The draw is set for 5 pm eastern time.
Tuesday's west coast opener marked the first time in program history that the Wolves played a game in the state of Arizona.Â
