DANBURY, Conn. - Senior guard
Kendall Robinson (Bellport, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 25 points to lead the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team to a 100-65 victory over visiting SUNY Old Westbury on Monday evening at Feldman Arena.
Rookie guard
Jaysean Morgan added 12, while senior forward
Jaheim Young (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and sophomore forward
James Rhodes (Tarrytown, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 apiece for the hosts.
Sophomore forward Max Weinberg (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) was the lone Panther player to reach double figures, finishing with 11.
The Wolves shot a respectable 47 percent from the field, while holding the visitors to a 40 percent clip. As has been the case much of the season, WestConn utilized its defensive intensity to force 31 turnovers. They coughed the ball up just 16 times.
The Wolves opened the scoring with a 14-6 spurt and would not look back. They would hold a commanding 52-35 edge at the break.
With the win, WestConn improved to 20-2 overall, while the Panthers dropped to 2-18. The Wolves return to action at Little East Conference foe Castleton University on Saturday at 4 p.m.
