DANBURY, Conn. - Rookies
Eric Quiterio (Windsor, Conn.) and
Emily Kiernan (Watertown, Conn.) each earned victories as the Western Connecticut State University men's and women's swim teams hosted Fairleigh Dickinson University on Saturday afternoon. The men notched an 80-78 win, while the women fell, 142-36.
Quiterio touched the wall in 2:15.89 to claim the win in the men's 200-yard IM to get things started for the Wolves. Kiernan would seize the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 6:09.56, edging out Devil swimmer Ashley Smith, 6:10.57.
The WestConn men improved to 1-0 overall, while the women moved to 0-1. The Wolves return to the water when they host Hunter College on Friday at 5 p.m.
