DANBURY, Conn. - Senior
Mitchell Kindred celebrated Senior Day with his team's lone victory in an 8-1 loss to visiting Bridgewater State University at sunny Westside Courts on Saturday afternoon.
Kindred outlasted Charles Fiske, 6-4, 6-4, in fourth-flight singles to stave off the Bears' shut out.
Freshman
Caleb Harris battled Robert Dwyer at #6 solos, dropping the first set, 7-6 with a 10-6 tie-breaker, before dropping the second set, 6-1.
"We knew going in Bridgewater is a tough opponent, and it showed it today," said longtime WestConn head coach
Shawn Stillman. "We did have our opportunities to take control in some matches and we need to do better at converting those moments in our favor. The highlight was Mitch winning his final regular season match of his career. He will be greatly missed."
The Wolves, now 5-10 overall and 2-4 in the Little East Conference, has earned the fifth seed in the upcoming LEC Championships, which begin on Tuesday, May 3. Following Sunday's action, the complete pairings and tournament schedule can be found at
