Box Score KEENE, N.H. - Junior guard Kendall Robinson (East Patchogue, N.Y.) tallied a season-high 38 points, while shooting a blazing 13-of-18 (72 percent) from the field but it wasn't enough as the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team fell at Little East Conference nemesis Keene State, 75-69, on Saturday afternoon. He also notched team-highs of 11 rebounds and three blocks in the losing effort. 

Keene State had four players pierce double figures in scoring. Octavio Brito led the way with 23 points, while Jeff Hunter chipped in with 16 points and a game-high 20 rebounds.

The Owls jumped out to an early 8-2 lead. WestConn would rally and tie things up midway through the first half before Keene put together another spurt to head into the locker room at halftime with a 38-28 advantage.

However, WestConn would not go away. They chipped away at the lead in the second half and would eventually regain a 57-56 advantage when Robinson connected on a layup while being hacked. He would sink the ensuing free throw to complete the three-point play with 6:23 remaining. 

But the lead last for a just a few seconds as Brito countered with a trifecta on the next possession to make it 59-57, Keene State.

He added yet another step-back three-pointer from the left wing, widening the gap to 68-62 with 1:25 left. WestConn would not quit. However, Keene came away with a steal at half court which led to a breakaway layup to put the game out of reach with 30 ticks left on the clock. 

With the loss, WestConn dropped to 11-10 overall and 5-8 in league play, while the Owls improved to 15-5 and 10-3. WestConn has the week to regroup before they return to action on Saturday against visiting conference opponent Castleton University at 4 p.m.
