Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior forward Katelyn Fanning (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) scored a team-high 10 points, but the Western Connecticut State University season came to a close following its 70-41 loss at top-seeded Rhode Island College on Tuesday night in the Little East Conference Championships quarterfinals.

WestConn, the eighth seed, closes out the campaign at 8-18 while the Anchorwomen improved to 20-5 and will play host to #4 seed University of Southern Maine, which defeated Keene State College 55-45 tonight, in one of Thursday's semifinals. 

Second seed Eastern Connecticut State University, 56-37 winners over Castleton, will host University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, which rolled over University of Massachusetts Boston, 91-51 tonight.

The Anchorwomen were led by a trio of double-figure scorers.  Antonia Corsinetti (Johnsont, R.I.) led the way with 12 points while Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) and Jeniyah Jones (Randolph, Mass.) added 11 and 10 points, respectively for the winners.

Gabrielle Franks (Madison, Conn.) added eight points for WestConn.  She also collected four rebounds and registered a pair of blocked shots.

A driving lay-up from Alyssa Virtue (Groton, Conn.) gave WestConn an 8-7 advantage with 2:41 remaining in the first period, but the hosts would close out the quarter on a 6-1 run for a 13-9 lead.

WestConn scored six out of the first eight points coming out of intermission to take a 28-27 lead following a turn-around jumper from Virtue.  

After a 16-1 run, capped off by a long three pointer from Jones at the 3:26 mark of the third stanza, RIC led 43-29 and pulled away from head coach Kimberley Rybczyk's squad.
