KEENE, N.H. - Junior forward
Myah Croze (Bristol, Conn.) scored three goals and the Western Connecticut State University women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 5-0 victory at Keene State College on Saturday afternoon.
WestConn, which remains as Also Receiving Votes in this past week's United Soccer Coaches Division III Poll, improves to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the Little East Conference. The Owls fall to 2-5-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.
The visitors took a 1-0 lead at the 5:14 mark when sophomore
Kyla Norton (East Hampton, Conn.) scored an unassisted goal. It was her second of the season.
Croze then went on a tear and rattled off three straight goals for the winners and now has a league-best 13 goals on the season. Her markers came in the 16th, 30th and 47th minute.
Freshman
Suzana Imetovski (Seymour, Conn.) closed out the scoring, with an unassisted goal at the 48:19 mark.
Lillian Daniels (Bethel, Conn.), Imetovski and Norton were each credited with an assist on Saturday.
Senior
Karly Martin (Bristol, Conn.) was credited with the victory in goal for WestConn. She made three saves before yielding to Kristen Broessler (Danbury, Conn.) for the final 30 minutes.
Abigail Terrinca made six saves for Keene State in the first 83 minutes. Rebecca Koziara was unchallenged in relief during the final seven minutes.
WestConn travels to cross-state rival Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, September 29. Kick-off is slated for 6 pm in Mansfield.
