Skylar Jorge Scores Twice And Myah Croze Adds To Nation-Leading Game-Winning Goals Against Vassar

DANBURY, CONN. - Western Connecticut State University junior forward Myah Croze (Bristol, Conn.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal, her Division III-leading fifth of the season, in a 4-2 victory over Vassar College at the Westside Athletic Complex on a muggy Wednesday afternoon.

Croze, now has seven goals for WestConn, which remains perfect with a 5-0 overall record. She scored the 2-2 tie when she converted WestConn's second penalty of the afternoon.

Earlier on Wednesday, WestConn was Also Receiving Votes in the first United Soccer Coach's Division III National Poll.

The hosts raced out to a 2-0 advantage after Nicolette Stocks (Bethel, Conn.) put away her own ill-attempted penalty with under two minutes elapsed in the contest.  It was her first goal of the season.  Skylar Jorge (Trumbull, Conn.) connected for her third goal of the season, and first of two on the day, midway through the 17th minute.

The Brewers, now 2-2, bounced right back and rattled off a pair of goal inside a 3:17 span, before the teams would break for intermission.

Madison Bouggess (Swedesboro, N.J) finished off a pass in front from Justine Tapert (New York, N.Y.) for her first goal of the season and game for the visitors at the 20:02 mark.

After a scramble in front of WestConn's net and early in the 24th minute, Skylar Herrera-Ross (Alameda, Calf.) would tally her first marker of the season to knot the game at 2-2.

Croze's triumphant goal came late in the 57th minute and WestConn's defense kept the Brewers virtually at bay the rest of the way.

Senior Karly Martin (Bristol, Conn.) improved to 5-0 between the pipes for the winners as she registered her second clean sheet of the season.  She made seven saves.

Vassar's Julia Reigrut (Lone Tree, Colo.) suffered the loss after making five saves.

WestConn plays host to Rhode Island College this Saturday, September 18 as it and the Anchorwomen begin Little East Conference action.  Game time is set for 2 pm.

The Brewers welcome SUNY Oneonta to Poughkeepsie on Saturday, also set for a 2 pm kick-off.
