Max Gregory (Jewitt City, Conn.), the Western Connecticut State University baseball squad dropped both games of a doubleheader in extra innings at UMass Dartmouth in a Little East Conference matchup on Friday. The hosts put up a pair of runs in the tenth inning of Game One and held on to win, 6-4, before striking for another run in the tenth of Game Two, claiming a 3-2 victory. With the pair of losses, the Colonials dropped to 2-16 overall while the Corsairs improved to 10-12.

Joe Gambino (Stamford, Conn.) slapped a single through the left side of the infield, scoring Gregory, who led off the second inning with a double to right center. The hit knotted the count at 1-1. Jake Babon (Southington, CT) drove home another run with a single to right, setting the score at 4-4. But the Corsairs struck right back as they tallied a pair of runs on a sacrifice fly and a double down the left field line, cementing the 6-4 win.

Mike Hendler (Purchase, N.Y.) tossed nine solid innings while striking out five batters as he dropped to 1-3 overall.
In Game Two, the Colonials drew first blood when Gregory bashed an RBI double to right. The Corsairs evened the score at 1-1 in the fourth with an RBI single. The teams exchanged runs in the ninth setting up another extra frame. However, UMD's Vasquez ripped a home run over the left field wall to seal their second 10th inning win of the afternoon.
WestConn returns to action for their regular season finale against visiting LEC foe Keene State on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
