FITCHBURG, Mass. - Junior running back
Chad Blaszky (Seldon, N.Y.) scored a pair of touchdowns in Western Connecticut State University's season-ending 48-13 victory at Fitchburg State University on Saturday afternoon.
Blaszky caught a 17-yard touchdown pass and a 18-yard rushing score as WestConn evened its record at 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference. He finished with a team-leading 41 yards on eight carries and had the one reception.

John Giller (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) completed 10-of-17 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns.
Freshman
Julian Ferguson (Enfield, Conn.) and senior
Walter Crain (Windsor, Conn.) pulled in TDs from nine and 61 yards in WestConn's second-straight victory.
Sophomore transfer
Mack Driver (Mastic Beach, N.Y.), this past week's MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week, plowed in for two more scores on Saturday. He opened up the game's scoring with a nine-yard run with 5:29 remaining the first quarter then snuck in from two yards out with 1:40 left before intermission. WestConn led, 35-7 at the break.
Senior offensive tackle
Michael Douglas (New Windsor, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the winners as he raced in from 22 yards with 3:15 elapsed in the final stanza.
Defensively,
Brian Tucker (Greensville, N.Y.) led all players with 13 tackles for WestConn.Â
Peter Bencivengo (Meriden, Conn.) and
Matt Forti (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied eight and six tackles, respectively, for the winners.
