Nolan Meehan

Western Connecticut State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Guy Rancourt has announced the hiring of Nolan Meehan as an Assistant Coach, replacing Cooper Tinsley who has moved on to Fordham University.

Meehan departs the Villanova University men's basketball program after being under Jay Wright's tutelage since 2017.  During that span, Meehan was part of three Big East Regular Season and Tournament Championships and went to three NCAA Tournaments: One National Championship, Final Four, and Sweet 16.  Meehan also served under current Division I head coaches Baker Dunleavy (Quinnipiac) and Ashley Howard (LaSalle).  On the court he helped develop multiple All-Americans and 11 players who have transitioned professionally to the National Basketball Association (NBA), G-League, and also abroad. The Avon, Ohio native was on the staff of the Wildcats as they registered an overall record of 118-25.

"I couldn't be happier to add someone of Nolan's ability to our staff," says WestConn head coach Guy Rancourt.  "Coach Wright strongly believes Nolan will help our players develop and keep WestConn performing at a championship level."

Meehan joins a staff that includes veteran assistant coach Jamie Procino and academic coordinator Ken Reed.  He will be involved in all day-to-day operations, team travel, recruiting, and game preparation.  With Meehan's addition, 11 players returning from last season's Little East Conference championship, and a talented incoming recruiting class enrolled, WestConn will defend its 2020 LEC regular-season and tournament championships and look to make back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division III Championships..
