Chapman Rolls Again but Women’s Tennis Falls to Plymouth State, 7-2

DANBURY, CT – The Western Connecticut State University women's tennis team fell to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in league play following a 7-2 loss to visiting Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. Senior Emma Chapman (Danbury, CT) continued her strong play for the Colonials as she earned a 6-3, 6-2 singles win before teaming up with graduate Carole Allers (Wilton, CT) for an 8-3 doubles win.

"Today's loss was disappointing. It was a match where we could have made a big step toward securing a conference playoff spot, but Plymouth was too tough today," said WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman.

The Panthers improved to 8-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play. WestConn returns to action at Bridgewater State on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
