FARMINGDALE, NY – Senior Emma Chapman (Danbury, CT) notched the lone singles win for the Western Connecticut State University women's tennis team as they fell at non-conference foe Farmingdale State, 8-1, on Friday. With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 5-6 overall.

"We were missing a couple of starters today due to classes and injuries, but our ladies stepped up and played well," said WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman following the contest.

The Rams put together a dominant performance. Besides Chapman's win, Colonial rookie Sarah Silva (Brookfield, CT) put up a solid effort, falling in a third set tiebreaker, 10-7.
