Osheonna Israel And Karly Martin Honored By Little East Conference

PAWTUCKET, RI - Junior midfielder Osheonna Israel (South Windsor, CT) and sophomore goalie Karly Martin (Bristol, CT) have been named Little East Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player and Goalie of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on October 6.

Israel came off the bench to score four goals in three Colonial wins last week, and now ranks third on the team with five goals for the season. She opened the week with a pair of goals in a 7-1 non-conference route visiting Manhattanville before finding the back of the net in a 5-1 non-conference home win over John Jay. The junior capped the week by scoring the game-winning goal in the 79th-minute of Saturday's 2-1 LEC victory at Keene State.

Martin repeats as LEC Goalkeeper of the Week after going 3-0-0 with just one goal allowed over her 180 minutes played. She opened the week stopping both shots on goal she faced in the opening 45 minutes of a 7-1 non-conference win over Manhattanville and earned the decision after making three saves during a scoreless first half in a 5-1 non-conference win over John Jay. The sophomore capped the week with a nine-save effort in Saturday's 2-1 win at Keene State. Martin is now 8-4-0 with a 1.18 goals against average and a .797 save percentage, with 51 saves for the year. She ranks second in the LEC in wins and goals against average, is third in save percentage and fifth in saves.
