    DANBURY, CT - Senior forward Morgan Matthews (Bethel, CT) scored the game-winning goal, in the 50th minutes to lift the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team to a thrilling 3-2 victory over visiting Salem State University in the quarterfinals of the Little East Conference Championships at the Westside Athletic Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Four WestConn Teams Move On In Little East Conference Championships

    DANBURY, CT - Four Western Connecticut State University fall programs earned hosting duties for the Little East Conference Tournament and all four teams are still alive.  Field hockey amd men's soccer, captured exciting victories in its first-round contests on Tuesday, and the women's soccer and women's volleyball will all host semifinals on Thursday.

    DANBURY, CT – Senior forward Carly Matasavage (Middlebury, CT) netted a pair of goals, while classmate Morgan Matthews (Bethel, CT) added one and dished out two assists to lead the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team to a 5-2 victory over visiting Little East Conference foe Bridgewater State on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Colonials improved to 14-3 overall and 10-1 in league play, while the Bears plummeted to 2-13 and 2-9.

    MANSFIELD, CT – After cruising to a league victory at Salem State on Saturday, the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team earned yet another Little East Conference win on Wednesday as they shut out archrival host Eastern Connecticut, 4-0, at Rick McCarthy Field. Senior Morgan Matthews (Bethel, CT) paced the Colonials with two goals and assist.

    DANBURY, CT – The Western Connecticut State University field hockey squad improved to 12-3 overall and 8-1 in league play as they cruised to a 5-1 victory at Salem State in a Little East Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings dropped to 9-7 and 5-6. Senior forward Melissa Krim (South Easton, MA) paced the Colonials with two goals and an assist.

    DANBURY, CT –Junior goalkeeper Neve Manion (Newington, CT) notched six saves in a stellar performance but it wasn’t enough as the Western Connecticut State University field hockey squad fell to visiting non-league opponent Manhattanville College, 1-0, on Tuesday night at the Westside Athletic Complex. With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 11-3 overall, while the Valiants improved to 12-3.
