DANBURY, Conn.- The Western Connecticut State University Wolves placed 11 men's ice hockey players on the 2026 American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Krampade Division II-III All-American Scholars List, 30 players on the Little East Conference (LEC) Fall Academic Honor Roll, and 26 players on the LEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. In addition, WestConn sophomores
Blake Alexander (Mansfield, Conn.) and
Chris Hamilton (Ridgefield, Conn.) graced both LEC Academic Honor Rolls and the 2026 LEC Winter All-Academic Team. Coached by
Doug Friedman (1st Season), the Wolves finished their inaugural season as a varsity program in 2025-26 with a 2-23 overall record and a 1-17 mark in the LEC.
To qualify to be an AHCA Krampade All-Amercican Scholar,, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. The LEC announced a total of 586 student-athletes named to the 2025-26 LEC Winter All-Academic Team. To be named to the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the term.
