Ciampi Represents WestConn Women's Tennis On CSC Academic All-District Team

DANBURY, Conn.. - Western Connecticut State University sophomore Ava Ciampi (Wolcott, Conn.) was chosen to represent the Wolves on the 2026 CSC Division III Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team and was also named to the 2025 Little East Conference (LEC) Fall All-Academic Team and the 2025 LEC Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Team.  Additionally, Ciampi and senior Aylina Razeq (Danbury, Conn.) graced the 2025 LEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.  WestConn, coached by Shawn Stillman (12th Season), finished the 2025 fall slate with a 3-11 overall record and in eighth place in the Little East with a 1-7 conference mark.  The Wolves played five matches in the spring without its full roster and finished the 2025-26 season at 4-15 overall.  Ciampi, an LEC Academic Honor Roll member as a rookie in 2024-25 as well, was a fixture in the top third of the Wolves' singles lineup and won three of her 19 singles matches.  In doubles, Ciampi was 1-18 with several partners.  A graduate of Wolcott High School, Ciampi has been an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete as a nursing major at WestConn.
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.  The WestConn fall athletic teams placed 41 Wolves on the LEC Fall All-Academic Team and 19 WestConn varsity programs combined to earn 246 LEC Fall Academic Honor Roll selections. To be selected to the Fall All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.  The LEC announced a total of 2,745 student-athletes competing in the conference's 21 championship sports for the LEC Academic Honor Roll in recognition of their academic performance in the fall 2025 semester. To be named the LEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a semester GPA of 3.00 or better and have been an active member of the team at the conclusion of the season.
