Box Score 2 ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The Western Connecticut State University Wolves downed the Webster University Gorlocks, 5-2, in women's tennis action this afternoon at Sanlando Park. The Wolves, which also lost to Edgewood College, 7-0, today, is now 4-13. WestConn was forced into the unusual tennis doubleheader due to bad weather both in Florida and around the country where multiple Wolves opponents experienced travel delays. Webster drops to 1-12 and Edgewood improves to 14-8. WestConn will return North and host New England next in one of two spring matches in New England on April 13 at 3:30 p.m.
WestConn lost the doubles point to the Gorloks and three Wolves earned singles victories. Senior
Aylina Razeq (Danbury, Conn.) opened singles play with an 8-5 win at the fourth position, as the matches were shortened to eight-game pro sets. Freshman
Eilynn Pierre (Queens Village, N.Y.) won, 8-5, at second singles and sophomore
Ava Ciampi (Wolcott, Conn.) pulled out a victory at third singles, 8-7 (2). The Gorlocks took forfeits at the bottom two spots on the ladder.
