DANBURY, Conn. -  Each week, WestConn Athletics selects one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The 24th Wolves of the Week in 2025-26 academic year for their stellar performances on the turf and on the mound. Pitcher Quinn McGuire (Monroe, Conn.) and women's lacrosse's Madison Ratchford (Ridge, N.Y.) were named Wolves of the Week.

McGuire threw for five innings in baseball's second game at Yeshiva University to secure the sweep. The sophomore didn't surrender a hit and struck out nine batters as the Wolves opened the season with a pair of wins (16-3, 14-1) against the Maccabees.

Ratchford totaled four goals, two assists, three draw controls, a caused turnover and scooped up a groundball. The senior scored thrice in the 13-9 women's lacrosse victory at home against the University of Hartford on Saturday.
