DANBURY, Conn. - Each week WestConn Athletic select one female and one male student-athlete as the Wolves of the Week, recognizing their outstanding performances in their respective sports from the previous week. The honorees are announced every Wednesday. The seventh Wolves of the Week for their performances on the green and pitch are women's golf senior
Kaelin Giddings (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and men's soccer junior
Demani Gordon (Bronx, N.Y.).
At the Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Golf Championships this weekend, Giddings finished 12th on the leaderboard with a two-round score of 194 to lead the Wolves to a tie with Rhode Island College for fifth place in the team standings. Giddings was the model of consistency, shooting a 97 each day and finished four strokes better than the 13th-place finisher. Giddings fired a 53 on the front nine and closed with a 44 after the turn on both days of the tournament.
In the final game of the regular season at Keene State College on Friday, Gordon netted the game-winner - his second of the campaign in the 58th minute to keep WestConn undefeated in LEC action with a 2-1 road victory over the Owls. After a shot by
Juan Gomez Herrera (Brentwood, N.Y.) was saved but not secured by goalkeeper Tommaso Lorrai, Gordon took advantage of the opportunity to tip in the ball from the right side of the net to put the Wolves up, 2-0.
