PURCHASE, N.Y. — The Western Connecticut State University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match to the Purchase College Panthers on Tuesday. The Wolves fell to 3-8, while the hosts moved to 7-4.
At No. 2 Singles,
Ava Ciampi (Wolcott, Conn.) lost 6-0 in the opening set but rallied back for a close loss, 6-4, to Sierra Bianco in the second.
Erickah Tertulien (Norwalk, Conn.) played a competitive match at No. 1 Singles, before falling 6-1, 6-3. The duo fought hard at No. 1 Doubles, but came up short in a 6-3 loss.
Due to injury, the visitors had to forfeit No. 3 Doubles and No. 6 Singles.
WestConn travels to Bridgewater State on Friday for a 3 p.m. match. The teams were supposed to compete on Wednesday, but due to inclement weather, the match was rescheduled for a later date.Â
