EWING, N.J. – The Western Connecticut State University women's soccer team, fresh off its 11th Little East Conference Championship, with face The College of New Jersey in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships this weekend. TCNJ is set to host the opening two rounds on, Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.
TCNJ locked up its trip to the tournament with a win in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship game. The Lions enter the weekend with a record of 13-1-1 on the season.
The Colonials captured the LEC title behind shut out wins over University of Southern Maine (2-0 on 11/2) and University of Massachusetts Boston (1-0 on 11/3) to secure their 14th trip to the NCAA Tournament, and currently own a record of 14-8.
The other match will consist of Brandeis University against Farmingdale State College. Brandeis earned an at-large selection into the big dance and supports a season record of 12-4. The Rams head into the tournament with a record of 16-3-3, and are fresh off of a Skyline Conference Championship victory.
On Nov. 10, TCNJ will face Western Connecticut State at 11:00 a.m. Following that Brandeis and Farmingdale State will square off at 1:30 p.m., and on Sunday the winners will play at 1:00 p.m. All games will take place in Lions Stadium. Follow the action all weekend long here at tcnjathletics.com.
