WestConn Softball Ends Regular Season With Loss At Trinity, 3-2

HARTFORD, CT - With the Little East Conference double-elimination Championships set to begin on Thursday, the Western Connecticut State University softball team closed out the regular season with a 3-2 loss at Trinity College on Tuesday afternoon.

The Colonials, now 19-14, scattered six hits with Annie Rosa (Washington, CT) collecting a pair of hits including the team's only extra-base hit, a double.

Brittany Stancavage (Bristol, CT) went 1-for-3 and drove in one run for WestConn.

Freshman righty Alyssa Lionetti (Brookfield, CT) suffered the loss after going the distance and is now 4-3 in her first collegiate season.  She allowed three runs on 11 hits, struck out two and walked three.

Jordan Stephan improved to 6-7 for the Bantams, which improved to 18-13 on the year.  She had a complete-game six-hitter, gave up on earned runs, struck out five and walked just one.

Jenna Thomas led Trinity's offensive attack by going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI.
