    DANBURY, CT - The Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse program, under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Ryan Cavanagh, will host the Hat City Lacrosse Shootout at the school's Westside Athletic Complex on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28.
  • Third-Seeded Men's Lacrosse Rally Falls Short Against Sixth-Seeded UMass-Boston, 11-7, in LEC Quarterfinals

    DANBURY, CT – Trailing 9-1 midway through the second quarter, the third-seeded Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team rallied. However, the comeback attempt would fall short as they fell to visiting sixth-seeded UMass-Boston, 11-7, in the quarterfinal round of the Little East Conference Championship Tournament on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Colonials campaign came to an end at 10-8 overall, while the Beacons improved to 5-13 and advanced where they will meet No. 2 Plymouth State in the semifinals hosted by top-seeded Keene State on Friday at 7 p.m.

With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in league play, while the Owls improved to 8-5 and 7-0, extending their win streak to six games.

With the win, the Colonials improved to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in league play, while the Corsairs fell to 5-8 and 2-3.

    WILLIMANTIC, CT – Junior attackman Ryan Reuling (Groton, CT) tallied a game-high six goals and one assist, while classmate Eric Caldwell (East Moriches, NY) added five goals and a helper as the Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team rallied to upend cross-state archrival Eastern Connecticut, 15-12, in a Little East Conference matchup on Tuesday night. With the win, the Colonials improved to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in league play, while the Warriors dropped to 3-7 and 1-3.

Those Colonials honored before the contest included Adriel Parra (Brewster, NY), Ryan Yursha (Brick, NJ) and Robert Swensen (Danbury, CT). Swensen also notched his 100th career point during the contest.

With the win, the Colonials improved to 4-2 overall, while the Wolverines dropped to 1-3.

    KINGS POINT, NY – Junior attackman Eric Caldwell (East Moriches, NY) and senior midfielder Robert Swensen (Danbury, CT) each netted four goals but it wasn’t enough as the Western Connecticut State University men’s lax squad was edged at non-conference foe Merchant Marine (USMMA), 14-12, on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon at Brooks Stadium. The hosts jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Colonials rally began. They would tie the count at 10-10 in the final quarter before the comeback fell short.
