In the consolation game, Bowdoin College defeated Worcester State University, 90-65 earlier on Saturday.
David Reynolds (Raleigh, NC) and Zavier Rucker (Woodbury, CT) led the Polar Bears with 24 and 23 points, respectively. Jack Simonds (Falmouth, ME) chipped in 18 points and lead all players with 14 rebounds.
Hugh O'Neil (Lexington, MA) pulled down 13 rebounds and had a pair of blocked shots for the winners.
The Lancers, now 2-3 on the season, were led by Will Watkins, Jr. (Southbridge, MA) who scored 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field.
Bowdoin, now 1-1, shot 56% from the flood, connecting on 33-of-59 attempts while Worcester State missed 40 of its 62 shots from the field.
The Polar Bears controlled the glass as well, out-rebounding the Lancers, 44-25.
Bowdoin led from the start and raced out to a 12-2 advantage following a free throw from Simonds just 5:23 into the game. Its lead grew to 15 points, 45-30 at the break. With 3:02 remaining in the game, Andy Ward (Lafayette, NJ) hit a jumper to give Bowdoin its largest lead of the day, 36 points, 88-52.
